A day early! You're welcome!

Bryan loves it when I share introverted facts.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a genius. As much as I sometimes hate the internet, I think this kind of collaboration is one strength we will see played out over the next few years.

Haha, I love a good Apple mocking.

100 Rules of Dinner by Dinner, A Love Story.

I hope you have a great Easter weekend. Spend some time thinking about why we have this Friday off and what we are truly celebrating on Sunday.

Monday Morning Inspiration

I came across this in my Reader scroll through post-lunch.

It was too beautiful to wait to share on the weekend. Watch it now.

Good morning! We were a little lazy this morning and are just now getting up and Bryan is making me breakfast as I type.

Here's what I liked this week:

Garden Gnome plant markers. I'm going to make Bryan make these for me.

Social farting... makes just as much sense as social smoking.

NCAA tournament is underway. A few of my favorite facts this week:
1) There are ZERO perfect brackets this year.
2) More people were accepted into Harvard than chose them on their bracket.

Roux in the yard

Sunday afternoon I spent some time out on the back patio with Roux.

For some reason she really wanted to roll around in this one particular spot. I had never seen do that before.

Crusty Snugglers

Motley has always been a bit of a snuggler, but with the addition of Roux we have had a lot of snuggles around our house. Roux and Motley like snuggling together with one of us.

Which means we have a lot of pictures like these...

Eventful Saturday

This past Saturday was pretty eventful. The carpenter came back by to finish up on the kitchen island. It needs a bit of touchup paint and some styling but it's come a long way.

While he was here I went to the Cooper Young farmers market for some locally raised goods (pork sausage, eggs, and cherry tomatoes if you must know). I ran into some friends from church and had a great conversation with them.

I came back and did some work in the garden. I planted two types of carrots. One type, St. Valery, in one of the garden beds and the other type, Paris Market, in containers. This is my first time with carrots, so I'm a bit nervous. And apparently ambitious as well given how much I've invested into them already.

We made plans to go to Ernestine and Hazel's for lunch with the Baddorfs'. None of us had ever had their World Famous Soul Burger so we decided it was high time to make it happen.

They were tasty, although I still think Alex's has my favorite burger in Memphis.

We ventured upstairs to look around at the former whorehouse.

Some friends had invited us to join them at the Downtown St. Patrick's Day Parade and since we were already down there we decided to join them.

While we were downtown Bryan wanted to take his parents by the Ornamental Metal Museum. They were closed and we were out of time, but we walked around a bit and climbed an Indian Mound.

And then I stole a flower.

We closed out the evening by going to a friend's birthday party and hanging out with some friends from Redeemer.

It was a pretty awesome Saturday. One of the best we've had so far.

I am writing from Bryan's office/guest room today. Bryan moved the computer in here for his work and that's cool, but I kind of miss having it in the living room. Yes, I am too lazy to carry it in there. At least for the time being.

How to give a reflexology foot massage. Bryan, are you paying attention?

Huh... it appears that is all the links I saved for you this week. I saved a few recipes but I won't bore you with those.

I spent some time on Friday looking at new RSS readers to replace my beloved Google Reader. I landed on The Old Reader and I am currently waiting until my subscriptions will be imported. There are only 40919 people in front of me. Jeez...

I have to go to the grocery store, but when I get back I hope to muster up the energy to move the computer to the front room and start importing some pictures. I hope to have a few picture posts for you this week.

Maybe. No promises in blogging.

The Floor

A couple weeks ago we went with Redeemer Memphis to a Grizzlies game. Two floor seats were available for grabs for a quarter. We were lucky enough to be drawn for the first quarter.

We arrived in time to catch some warming up.

And the intro video... which always makes me cry.

This is a really terrible photo, but it's Grizz with a few of the Grizzlies.

Unfortunately it was a really terrible first quarter and we swore we'd never sit there again because obviously it was all our fault.

But it was pretty cool to be that close for a few minutes.

I even wore my Grizz hat.

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. I typically write posts on the weekend and last weekend we went to Little Rock. Tomorrow should be a rainy day which means I will have time to upload photos and write some posts. Until then, here's what had me laughing/inspired this week.

1. I am Elaine Benes.

2. Arrested Miserables

3. I've also found a ton of cocktail recipes I want to try. Most of these would be perfect for spring.
Pimm's Cup
Easy Sangria
Bourbon Old Fashioned - this one is probably more up Bryan's alley than mine
Rosemary Gin Rickey - what is a Rickey?

It's a beautiful day and we are having guests tonight. I shall alternate between chores and being outside.

Until next time...

3 weeks in a row! Here's this week's edition:

1. Email Etiquette. When someone starts a new job, or every 10 years, I think everyone needs to go through a modern etiquette class. Seriously. This is so important, people.

2. I'll be making one of these some time in the near future.

3. Bookmarking this for future reference: When to Quit Your Job. One point that struck me was if you wanted your bosses job. If not, maybe you aren't in the right job.

4. Love this idea of buying land with friends and building similar cabins. I don't care for the plywood interiors, but I'm sure it was cost effective.

5. Speaking of cabins, I'd like to go to these.

6. Skills: many ways to tie a scarf.
